Preparation Tips from AIIMS MBBS Topper: Eliza Bansal

A national level exam, AIIMS MBBS can turn out to be a career changing point for any medical student. Being held in over 155 centers across the country, it is an undergraduate level entrance exam for the students seeking admission in MBBS in any of the 9 AIIMS institutions in Delhi, Patna, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur and Nagpur.

Students who would be taking AIIMS 2019 would definitely try to find some preparation tips that may uplift their confidence and enhance their performance both at the same time.

Eliza Bansal, secured AIR 1 in AIIMS 2018 exam is from Punjab’s Sangrur district and secured highest percentile. The exam was held on 25th and 26th May 2018 and results were declared on June 18, 2018.

Eliza revealed that instead of taking coaching for MBBS, she just did self-study for 4-5 hours which helped her a lot. Other than this she has shared some of her preparation tips in an interview in which she put her opinion forward saying AIIMS 2018 was even harder than NEET 2018.

Let us now discuss tips suggested by Eliza to reduce the complexity of the exam for those who’d be appearing in AIIMS 2019:-

Go through the syllabus before starting preparation:

Having knowledge of the syllabus is the first step towards preparation of any exam. That is why the official website must be regularly visited by the students in order to stay updated with any change in the syllabus or pattern of the exam.

Division of Syllabus:

Segregate the syllabus according to the difficulty level of the topics. Divide the topics and then put efforts on each one of them individually. It would save your time and you will feel burden of syllabus. Thus, you may also manage the schedule or change the sequence in which you want to prepare a topic.

Draft a Plan:

This is the most important thing to be done for preparing any exam. Draft a plan by yourself and stick to it firmly. Accomplish small targets first, then aim for bigger ones in the syllabus. Prepare a schedule in such a way that you don’t seem bookworm but still do prepare for your exams well per day.

Availability of Study Material:

It is necessary that you have everything you require for preparation of AIIMS MBBS 2019. Previous years’ papers possess priority among the recommended study material.

Analyze your Performance:

Do as much practice as you can from previous years’ solved papers and each time you do a set, analyze your performance. Identify your strengths to enhance them and find your weak sections too so that you may work upon them later.

Start with Basic Concepts:

Learn the basic concepts first and then move to questions of higher level as to reach the top while going through stairs, you cannot leave any step otherwise you may fall. Make your basic concepts strong and then see how helpful they really are!
